The Association of Former Mayors International is an organization that has been established to reach out to communities around the world. Professor Nathan Kahara is the Founder of the Association of Former Mayors International and Dr. Clyde Rivers works as their Honorary International Advisor. This organization has been established in Nairobi, Kenya and offers experienced leadership to aid in making the cities and communities around the world a better place to live.

Professor Kahara said, “We are an association that is looking for former mayors, in good standing in their communities, to work with current leadership of cities to provide better governance and leadership.” Professor Kahara believes, if you have been successful you can teach others to be successful.

A key element and one that brings strength to this association is that, every former mayor in the association has to have an impeccable record of leadership when they served as acting mayors. The Honorary International Advisor, Dr. Clyde Rivers said, “It is time to connect the great leadership of former mayors of Africa to the former mayors of the world. Their experience will make the world a better place.” Dr. Rivers is currently connecting the Association of Former Mayors International with the country of Guatemala, Peru, Mexico and the United States.

Rivers went on to say, “Successful former mayors know how to build successful cities. It is great that these men and women are looking to give back to society in communities worldwide. The world is becoming one global village and we need everyone to help at a global level. This association is doing just that.”
